Thank
you for visiting my on-line office. I appreciate your interest in the
issues before the Raleigh City Council. I invite you to share with
me your views that matter to you and your family.
I
feel that we are very fortunate to live in a vibrant community like
Raleigh with its great quality of life. My husband Dennis and I moved
here over thirty years ago and are privileged to call Raleigh, North
Carolina home. Both of us have been very active civically in the Raleigh
community for decades. Our children, Nicole and Jason, were both born
in Raleigh and educated in the Wake County Public School System.
As
a present member of the Raleigh City Council, I feel strongly that
we are stewards of the city’s future and it is our civic responsibility
to help preserve this way of life for generations to come. I take this
responsibility seriously having served six years on the Raleigh Planning
Commission and prior to that, six years on the Raleigh Civic and Convention
Center Commission. From 1987 to 1997, I was Executive Director of International
Focus, Inc., a not-for-profit organization celebrating ethnic diversity
in the Triangle area. Prior to that, I was an active volunteer associated
with many public school and human service organizations. I
will always take the time to listen and study all sides of an issue
and will assert common sense leadership with an open door policy, always
striving to make the right decisions for Raleigh.
- Sincerely,
